Sri Isopanisad: The Album

Check back soon as we will have more information on Śrī Iṣopaniṣad, articles based on each of the 19 mantras, and links to all the artists involved in the project. In the meantime you can read all the lyrics on the Bandcamp page and if you like what you hear, kindly purchase the album so we can get it out to more people.

The great yoga text Śrī Īśopaniṣad contains timeless wisdom which covers a wide spectrum of philosophy, spirituality, metaphysics and yoga that can be practically applicable to anyone, no matter what their philosophical persuasion. It provides a great guide to living peacefully in this world.

I based my lyrics very closely on the commentaries by the renowned bhakti yoga teacher Śrīla Prabhupāda. It was a pleasure to delve deeply into these commentaries and now I would like to share them with you. The poetic rhythmic messages combined with uniquely chanted mantras will excite everyone from the spiritual seeker to the open-minded audiophile. The music is very eclectic and has sounds ranging from the sitar to dubby basslines; gentle flute ragas to energetic horns; all woven together with a Hip-hop vibe. Check out of the videos below:

The entire album is available on Bandcamp. Soon you will also be able to purchase the physical CD (beautifully designed by Rasikananda prabhu) for those that like their music to spin. All purchases help a great deal in keeping these projects alive. If you prefer to purchase directly, please use the Paypal button below and send me a small message letting me know it's for the album.

The lyrics to the album offer great spiritual insight (thanks to the commentaries of Śrīla Prabhupāda) and so any listener will be benefited with a new way to look at the world. Aside from the lyrics themselves, each song contains a unique mantra for each of the 19 songs. There is so much benefit in just hearing these mantras, and I am sure you will find them a lot of fun to chant along with.

Please spread the word about this album to everyone you know, get it round facebook and other social networks, post it on forums, and ask all your distant aunties, uncles and cousins to get it. Thank you.
